With Mystic, Spiegel String Quartet and Qanun player Osama Abdulrasol bring a combination of classical and world music, more specifically Sufi. Through Sufi music, believers try to get closer to God. When you hear Osama Abdulrasol play the strings of his kanun, ancient Babylon echoes with hints of Western classical music. The creativity of this Iraqi world citizen is really rocking. He presents Mystic with the four other virtuosos of the Spiegel String Quartet. In addition to his almost unearthly finger work, Abdulrasol can also take root as a composer. He combines the special talents in his group into a refined melodic structure. Add to that a dash of improvisation and the shortcut between East and West unveils itself. Spiegel String Quartet was founded in 1996 and consists of Elisa Kawaguti and Stefan Willems on violin, Leo De Neve on viola and Jan Schiffer on cello. From their inception, they garnered international fame. The ensemble performs major works from classical music as well as contemporary music. They are happy to enter into this unique collaboration to mix other styles with classical music.

Met Mystiek brengen Spiegel String Quartet en Qanu nspeler Osama Abdulrasol een combinatie van klassiek en wereldmuziek, meer bepaald soefi. Door soefimuziek proberen gelovigen om dichter bij God te komen. Als je Osama Abdulrasol de snaren van zijn kanun hoort bespelen, weerklinkt het oude Babylon met vleugjes van Westerse klassieke muziek.
